The Business Train
Mentoring program operates what we call a metro Train and a Rural Train.
We are the only true Mentoring program for the Dairy Industry; we have been
operating for the last three years and expanded into the Dairy Industry two
years ago.
As the Dairy Business Mentoring program has developed by
referrals and consists of clients spread throughout Victoria, I have been
encouraged by my existing clients to contact and communicate with the greater
dairy community to enable more people to access this service, all my clients
are mentored to meet their budgeted targets irrespective of the milk price; be
it 48 cents per litre
or 25 cents per litre.
The main section of the website has general information on
how the Mentoring Program works. The
Dairy Business Mentoring Program uses a unique financial monitoring program in
conjunction with the business mentoring.
All rural clients are given in an insight into the Metro
Business Train and the plus and minus of being a dairy farmer in
comparison, they are mentored to think about the business as if they
had employees rather than cows.
We work out what their strengths and weakness are as a
business owner and fill in the gaps where required be it engaging an
operational farm consultant or a bank appraisal etc etc.. They are
mentored on how to budget their business effectively and are also prepared for
the best and worst case scenario and what they should do if a certain milk
price was to appear, which is the case at the moment.
During the mentoring program which occurs every four to six
weeks, clients are mentored and measured on how well they have performed
on an operational and financial basis, they are also taught how to approach
banks and accountants etc with appropriate proposals to further their business
or to navigate through a tough time.
Each person is taught that there is no right or wrong answer
and that no one knows everything, they are also taught that every business
is different and that their business is unique in some way, every
Dairy Business train client hits their budget in any given year.
The session involves looking at their budget and comparing
their budget with year to date performance, that way they have complete control. For those people reading this for the first
time and thinking that you may not be able to afford it, well you really can't
afford to not have a strong handle on your business and it allows you to
continue to focus on what you do well and that's Dairy Farming.. In closing, we aim to turn our cost to you by
increasing your bottom line by at least five times, not to mention the cost
